American consumers’ concern about finances and the economy took a small dip in June, with 54% reporting a “high level” of concern compared to 59% in May, according to data from Numerator’s Consumer Sentiment Study.

More than half of consumers believe the country is in a recession and 72% expect inflation will increase in the next few months, according to a press release on the study’s findings.

Nearly half, 40%, reported their primary concern in the next few months will be personal finances and 73% stated rising prices on essentials and services is their prime economic concern.
