Over half of the U.S. population, 56%, is using mobile payment (Apple Pay or Samsung Pay) when shopping, according to Numerator’s 2024 Vision Report.

The research, which offers insight on U.S. consumer trends, also revealed mobile payments and downloadable content saw the most significant growth in the past year, increasing by 10 and 6 percentage points year over year respectively.

Consumers are most likely to consider AI shopping tech in 2024, including price comparison tools and clothing size recommendations as well as virtual try-on tech in 2024.

Another consumer trend involves switching to private-label options to enhance affordability, according to the report. Brands winning in that trend include Great Value, Kirkland Signature, Aldi and Trader Joe’s.
