This We Thirty-two We \n Partnership We\u2019re We’ve Thank
\nis our thirty-second year as KIZER & BENDER. 32 years of Retail Adventures,
\nthere is never a dull moment around here!<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\ncertainly never thought that first time we walked onstage in Boston,
\nMassachusetts to give our very first \u201cRetail Adventures in the REAL World\u201d
\nkeynote presentation that it would be the beginning of things to come. For that
\nmatter who knew that \u201cprofessional speaker\u201d was a real job? Well, Rich did
\nbecause it was a lifelong goal for him, but it was all new to Georganne. We
\nnever imagined we\u2019d end up here, but here we are.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nyears is a long time. Those few times we’ve been brave enough to watch the
\nvideo of that first seminar we see two people who look sort of familiar. Georganne
\nhas some BIG 90s hair, BIG shoulder pads, and huge glasses. Everything was big
\nback then. And she\u2019s wearing a red suit, her trademark and the first of many. Aside
\nfrom the beard that he grew around 1993, Rich looks pretty much the same. We\u2019re
\nblessed that he is thriving since the two open heart surgeries (two in two days,
\nhe\u2019s an overachiever) he had in December of 2019. For Rich the pandemic
\nshutdown was a gift because it gave him the time to recuperate that he never
\nwould have taken on his own.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nstill love this quote from former Craftrends columnists Linda Queen and Wanda
\nZeagler that reads: \u201cMany of you don\u2019t have partners. That\u2019s fine if it works
\nfor you. You obviously are not among the \u2018Shared Brain People\u2019 who inhabit this
\nEarth. We are and we are very comfortable, each of us, with our own portions of
\nour brains.\u201d Some people who read that quote don\u2019t understand it, but we do,
\nand that\u2019s all that counts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\nis a cool thing. Just in case you didn’t know, but were curious, we are
\nmarried. Happily. Just not to each other, thank you very much. We get that \u201cAre
\nyou married?\u201d question a lot; still a thirty-two year business partnership is
\nnothing to sneeze at. It is pretty amazing considering the Beatles only lasted
\neight years.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\npolar opposites. Our current office is in a 170+ year old farmhouse that\u2019s
\nloaded with personality. (And a few spirits, but that\u2019s another story for
\nanother day.) Rich\u2019s work space is a creative mess; Georganne\u2019s looks neat as
\nlong as you don\u2019t open her desk drawers. Rich is a Type A personality who is
\nalways thinking of our next big move; Georganne is all about the details, figuring
\nout how to make that \u201cnext big thing\u201d happen. Rich\u2019s brain never turns off; Georganne
\nflips hers off like a light switch the second she leaves the office. Rich reads
\nbusiness books and publications like a madman, Georganne reads everything except
\nbusiness books. Rich prefers to focus on one thing at a time; Georganne is the
\nqueen of multi-tasking.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
\nplayed the palace and we’ve played crazy places we\u2019d really rather forget, and
\nsome of our favorite presentations have been in the tiny back rooms of stores.
\nThe trials and tribulations of our 32 years of life on the road are priceless,
\nand we honestly wouldn’t change a single thing. We are privileged to work in so
\nmany industries. Our clients include big guys like IBM, NCR, and SEARS, as well
\nas intensively creative independents. And with funeral directors, wonderful
\npeople who care for their customers in ways that go far beyond what is
\nexpected.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
