\/\/<\/span> Pets at Home has hired Steve Shirley as its new operations director for retail<\/h6>\n\/\/ <\/span>Shirley said: \u201cI can\u2019t wait to get started and meet as many of my new colleagues as possible\u201d<\/h6>\nPets at Home has hired ex-Asda exec Steve Shirley as its new operations director for retail, completing the company\u2019s senior retail leadership team.<\/p>\n
Shirley spent 30 years with Asda, most recently serving as vice-president for wholesale and convenience. He will be responsible for all 457 Pets at Home stores while the company develops its estate throughout the UK.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cI\u2019m very excited to be joining Pets \u2013 not many businesses can provide such a rich offer \u2013 combining health, grooming and retail all under one brand.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s chief operating officer retail Lisa Miao added: \u201cIt is great to welcome Steve to the team. He is a very experienced, results-driven and respected retailer and has developed a wealth of experience across end-to-end retail operations, including establishing a broad range of store formats.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shirley\u2019s appointment follows that of Sky Deutschland\u2019s Kathryn Imrie to the newly-created role of chief consumer officer in February.<\/p>\n
