Boohoo is to make redundancies in its Manchester head office, with 50 roles at risk.<\/p>\n

Staff in the buying and merchandising departments have been affected with some offered voluntary settlements, Drapers reports.<\/p>\n

This comes as the online retailer reported sales slumped 11% year on year to \u00a3637m in the four months to 31 December 2022 and forecasted sales for the financial year to drop 12%.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cOverheads continue to be managed tightly against a challenging economic backdrop, including a reduction in capacity in the UK distribution network, with action across the group focusing on reducing costs,\u201d the etailer said in its update.<\/p>\n

Last week, Boohoo announced it was consulting on 100 jobs across its ecommerce, buying and design departments at its Soho office.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the group closed its Wellingborough warehouse this month with some of the 420 staff affected transferred to the retailer\u2019s other facilities.<\/p>\n
