It\u2019s not too late to avoid strike action; get round the table with GMB to improve the pay and conditions of workers.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAn Amazon spokesperson told The Guardian: \u201c<\/span>We appreciate the great work our teams do throughout the year and we\u2019re proud to offer competitive pay, which starts at a minimum of between \u00a310.50 and \u00a311.45 a hour, depending on location. This represents a 29% increase in the minimum hourly wage paid to Amazon employees since 2018.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\nThey added that employees would receive an extra one-off \u00a3500 payment, \u201cas an extra thank you\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\nAmazon workers around the world had threatened to strike on Black Friday over alleged unfair pay.
