Street artist Banksy has accused clothing retailer Guess of \u201chelping themselves\u201d to his designs without his permission.<\/p>\n

On social media, the graffiti artist posted a picture of London\u2019s Regent Street store featuring his 2007 mural \u201cFlower Thrower, asking shoplifters to visit the store.<\/p>\n

The post, which currently has over 1.6 million likes, read: \u201cThey\u2019ve helped themselves to my artwork without asking, how can it be wrong for you to do the same to their clothes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n

However, after the Instagram post went live, Guess closed the store to the public, placed security outside and covered up the window display.<\/p>\n

According to the fashion retailers website, the collection of clothing is in partnership with Brandalised, a graffiti licensing company which \u201coffers Banksy fans affordable graffiti collectibles\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the collection last month, Guess chief creative officer Paul Marciano said: \u201cThe graffiti of Banksy has had a phenomenal influence that resonates throughout popular culture,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new capsule collection with Brandalised is a way for fashion to show its gratitude.\u201d<\/p>\n
