The Save Mart Companies also is partnering with Keurig Dr Pepper to contribute up to $120,000 in matching funds, with the first food distribution reaching families before Christmas.

“When families tell us they’re choosing between groceries and gas, between meat on the table or medicine in the cabinet, we can’t shrug and say ‘that’s inflation,’” said Jim Perkins, President of The Save Mart Companies in a statement. “That’s what ‘Right By You’ is all about — 12 programs, food bank matching funds and community investment. We’re meeting people where they are with solutions that actually help.”

DoorDash Adds Discounted Delivery Partners

A total of 25 supermarket chains also are contributing via their DoorDash partnerships, helping waive delivery and service fees on one order from their stores for SNAP recipients during November, while funding lasts. The program includes unlimited talk and text and 3 GB of monthly data for up to five users per household; qualified consumers can sign up here.

“As someone who has spent the past two decades serving the underbanked and underserved markets, I’ve seen firsthand how politics can devastate families who are simply trying to get by,” said Brian Cox, CEO of SurgePays in a statement. “Wireless service has become essential to everyday life for all Americans, and helping families save money during this time of uncertainty is important to us. Our company was built to reach this exact demographic, the people most often overlooked and most affected by government dysfunction.”

Retailers Donate Funds and Food as SNAP Cutoff Deadline Looms

Original story from Oct. 28 begins-

With more than 40 million Americans facing a Nov. 1 cutoff of food aid delivered via SNAP [the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program] due to the ongoing government shutdown, food banks will be stretched even thinner than usual, according to the New York Times.
