2:10\" data-start=\"00:02:01.714\" data-end=\"00:02:10.271\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">our guests background and where they\u2019re coming from and in your case it\u2019s a super impressive retail \/ consumer background so can you\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"2:10 - 2:15\" data-start=\"00:02:10.127\" data-end=\"00:02:15.018\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">can you give us the version that your mom would share with her friends in the elevator.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[2:15]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"2:15 - 2:30\" data-start=\"00:02:15.175\" data-end=\"00:02:29.993\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Happy to do so so I\u2019ll back up a decade or two but I started well where I consider I started my career was at Mattel that huge toy conglomerate in fact they\u2019re very popular right now coming off of a I think a major hit movie.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"2:30 - 2:32\" data-start=\"00:02:30.468\" data-end=\"00:02:31.531\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">It\u2019s doing very well.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"2:32 - 2:41\" data-start=\"00:02:31.730\" data-end=\"00:02:40.707\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yes I think so has the rest of the world at this point but I started my career there and fell in love with the toy industry and thought that\u2019s where I would really spend.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"2:41 - 2:45\" data-start=\"00:02:40.978\" data-end=\"00:02:44.613\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">My entire career when I left Mattel.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"2:45 - 2:55\" data-start=\"00:02:44.829\" data-end=\"00:02:55.387\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">In the early 2000s I at the time was leading the core part of the Hot Wheels brand a dream job as a father and a former young boy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[2:56]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"2:56 - 3:05\" data-start=\"00:02:55.646\" data-end=\"00:03:04.527\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">But I thought I would give myself a taste of retail in the toy industry so I actually left metallic thought I would spend a couple of years on the retail side working with it.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"3:05 - 3:14\" data-start=\"00:03:04.701\" data-end=\"00:03:14.051\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">A brand I knew we all knew and loved at some point in our childhood called Toys R Us and truthfully I the reason I\u2019m here today is I fell in love with retail there,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"3:14 - 3:25\" data-start=\"00:03:14.184\" data-end=\"00:03:25.180\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and what was different for me about retail versus consumer packaged Goods was just the speed of retail it felt like it moved at light speed compared to kind of course EPG brand management,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"3:25 - 3:34\" data-start=\"00:03:25.325\" data-end=\"00:03:34.055\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and you know I often tell the story you know working in those days to change you know the package on a five car pack took a couple of years to get it to Market and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"3:34 - 3:39\" data-start=\"00:03:34.230\" data-end=\"00:03:38.556\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I joined Toys R Us and we had this idea to launch a birthday club and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"3:39 - 3:48\" data-start=\"00:03:38.743\" data-end=\"00:03:47.594\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">At the time I went to the CEO of the company John I learned and it was how quickly could you get it in Market could you do it in a couple of months.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"3:48 - 3:59\" data-start=\"00:03:47.792\" data-end=\"00:03:58.891\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And that and I was often running and in love with retail and so spent a couple of years there and then just continued to be given these remarkable opportunities to work with,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"3:59 - 4:07\" data-start=\"00:03:58.969\" data-end=\"00:04:07.195\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">really amazing Brands and helping them reshape their narratives with their consumers or and or finding new Pathways new emerging ways,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"4:07 - 4:17\" data-start=\"00:04:07.292\" data-end=\"00:04:16.569\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I could grow I was you know there at Bath and Body Works when we launched e-commerce we redesigned the site as a marketing site decided oh we might be able to sell something.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"4:17 - 4:23\" data-start=\"00:04:16.762\" data-end=\"00:04:23.438\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Through here and that\u2019s been my journey so from from Bath and Body Works to Kohl\u2019s department store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[4:24]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"4:24 - 4:32\" data-start=\"00:04:23.673\" data-end=\"00:04:31.820\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Then my hand in the bridal industry and private Equity with David\u2019s Bridal and then women\u2019s apparel and you know fast forward.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"4:32 - 4:37\" data-start=\"00:04:31.989\" data-end=\"00:04:36.742\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">A few few years and here I am at curate Retail Group.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"4:37 - 4:42\" data-start=\"00:04:36.923\" data-end=\"00:04:42.036\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Working in what I think is an exciting future for digital Commerce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[4:42]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"4:42 - 4:53\" data-start=\"00:04:42.349\" data-end=\"00:04:52.720\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">All of those roles you know usually leading the marketing you know the marketing or e-commerce function for those various Brands and learning a lot making a lot of mistakes a lot of mistakes\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"4:53 - 4:55\" data-start=\"00:04:52.600\" data-end=\"00:04:54.985\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I\u2019m getting a few things right every now and then,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"4:55 - 5:03\" data-start=\"00:04:55.040\" data-end=\"00:05:02.833\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and you know kind of Landing in a pretty exciting place here at grea where we think we\u2019re going to do something you know again interesting a new in the digital space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[5:04]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"5:04 - 5:14\" data-start=\"00:05:03.567\" data-end=\"00:05:13.914\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Yeah and a couple of fun facts brand you\u2019ve LED marketing for for a bunch of those Brands you just mentioned and while you were doing that I was\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:14 - 5:16\" data-start=\"00:05:13.764\" data-end=\"00:05:15.584\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">nominally\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:15 - 5:25\" data-start=\"00:05:15.483\" data-end=\"00:05:25.211\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">helpful in building a bunch of the the backend e-commerce functionality for those same Brands and so I think without knowing it you\u2019ve hated me your entire life for all the\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:25 - 5:34\" data-start=\"00:05:25.163\" data-end=\"00:05:33.924\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">the features you wanted and didn\u2019t get or the the the pace of evolution so I just wanted to apologize publicly for all of that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[5:34]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"5:34 - 5:35\" data-start=\"00:05:33.624\" data-end=\"00:05:34.687\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I appreciate that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[5:35]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"5:35 - 5:40\" data-start=\"00:05:34.748\" data-end=\"00:05:39.819\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">But one of the things I particularly love about your career is is I have this theory that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:40 - 5:46\" data-start=\"00:05:39.892\" data-end=\"00:05:45.930\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">you know though all of retailers has been profoundly disrupted by digital but not all at the same time\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:46 - 5:55\" data-start=\"00:05:45.787\" data-end=\"00:05:55.022\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">and so there were there are industries that are disrupted a long time ago and there\u2019s you know if you\u2019re a grocer or a car dealer you\u2019re probably getting disrupted you know right now\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"5:55 - 6:02\" data-start=\"00:05:54.878\" data-end=\"00:06:01.746\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">and I feel like you serendipitously or maybe intentionally have have been in a bunch of Industries.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"6:02 - 6:08\" data-start=\"00:06:01.993\" data-end=\"00:06:08.428\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Right at the peak of their disruption so your Toys R Us when when shopping online became a thing and then\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"6:08 - 6:13\" data-start=\"00:06:08.242\" data-end=\"00:06:12.767\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">urine Beauty when that became a thing and then you are you are in the\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"6:13 - 6:23\" data-start=\"00:06:12.599\" data-end=\"00:06:22.844\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">the the heat of the the apparel Wars online and now you\u2019re you\u2019re squarely in the v Commerce space and it\u2019s you know\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"6:23 - 6:32\" data-start=\"00:06:22.652\" data-end=\"00:06:32.290\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">one of the things we talked about the most on the show so whether you did that on purpose or not congratulations on on surfing that digital disruption wave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[6:32]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"6:32 - 6:41\" data-start=\"00:06:32.134\" data-end=\"00:06:41.082\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">No I appreciate that I think much much of it was serendipitous I would say that the pieces that probably weren\u2019t was my desire to always work for,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"6:41 - 6:51\" data-start=\"00:06:41.184\" data-end=\"00:06:50.528\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">brands that were leaders in their respective category or industry and as I look back and reflect that\u2019s probably one of the things that has been the most rewarding and probably given me the best.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"6:51 - 6:59\" data-start=\"00:06:50.871\" data-end=\"00:06:59.181\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Growth is being able to work with you know brands that were at the Forefront Mattel at the time was the leader in in toy manufacturing still still are.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"6:59 - 7:04\" data-start=\"00:06:59.446\" data-end=\"00:07:04.463\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Toys R Us at the time was the leader in toy retail Bath &amp; Body Works was the largest kind of.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"7:05 - 7:19\" data-start=\"00:07:04.878\" data-end=\"00:07:18.975\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Bath &amp; Body brand at the time Cole\u2019s was it was a chaser of you know kind of the discount Department space and ran past JCPenney\u2019s and Sears and its competitors and so that for me has been exciting because you know I think being with those who build powerful platforms,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"7:19 - 7:27\" data-start=\"00:07:19.011\" data-end=\"00:07:26.612\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">let you learn from the best and you know here I said today with curate retailgeek which owns QVC and HSN.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"7:27 - 7:31\" data-start=\"00:07:26.781\" data-end=\"00:07:31.359\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know the largest livestream platform on the globe by far the industry,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"7:31 - 7:43\" data-start=\"00:07:31.390\" data-end=\"00:07:42.825\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">leader having changed the landscape of how you could use television to shop you know some 35 years ago and continued it for nearly four decades now so that part of trying to work with brands that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"7:43 - 7:56\" data-start=\"00:07:42.915\" data-end=\"00:07:55.528\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I felt were really leaders in their space because I thought it would be a great place for me to learn has certainly been intentional and then this digital Crossroad just happened to kind of line up and almost all of those places at the time I was there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[7:56]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"7:56 - 8:00\" data-start=\"00:07:56.207\" data-end=\"00:08:00.221\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">That is awesome and today I sort of perceive\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"8:00 - 8:08\" data-start=\"00:08:00.011\" data-end=\"00:08:07.708\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">you you are on the Leading Edge of the curate retailgeek Roop with your current responsibilities and I definitely want to talk about those\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"8:07 - 8:20\" data-start=\"00:08:07.492\" data-end=\"00:08:19.781\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">but if I have the story right before you took on your current role you also had broader marketing responsibilities for the core QVC HSN Brands is that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[8:19]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"8:19 - 8:25\" data-start=\"00:08:19.499\" data-end=\"00:08:24.678\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I did I did that\u2019s that\u2019s right I joined you know curate retailgeek rupe.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"8:25 - 8:32\" data-start=\"00:08:25.033\" data-end=\"00:08:31.540\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And 20\/20 is the chief marketing officer for QVC and HSN are two largest video Commerce businesses,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"8:32 - 8:41\" data-start=\"00:08:31.685\" data-end=\"00:08:40.524\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">at the time and you know fast forward we obviously are in the midst of those businesses are in their own form of transformation and disruption right for.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"8:41 - 8:43\" data-start=\"00:08:40.741\" data-end=\"00:08:43.276\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">In some ways you know you talk about a Crossroads,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"8:43 - 8:51\" data-start=\"00:08:43.415\" data-end=\"00:08:51.250\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">ask for businesses you know having come through retail when e-commerce was exploding and and Retail foot traffic was being affected as people.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"8:51 - 9:02\" data-start=\"00:08:51.443\" data-end=\"00:09:02.120\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Spent more time online and less time in stores if you look at where accurate retailgeek Roop you know is today right streaming has remade the way we View television and so we\u2019ve had to remake our business,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:02 - 9:21\" data-start=\"00:09:07.331\" data-end=\"00:09:20.899\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know on cable or we reach over 100 million households in the US we used to reach all of those almost on cable and over the last several years is as people have migrated from cable to streaming services we\u2019ve migrated our business we still reach 100 million households,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:21 - 9:27\" data-start=\"00:09:21.061\" data-end=\"00:09:27.425\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">but today we reach many of those through streaming services because they don\u2019t have cable subscriptions any longer and so,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:27 - 9:36\" data-start=\"00:09:27.485\" data-end=\"00:09:36.108\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know joining another business who was in the midst of transformation again was was somewhat serendipitous I was excited about the future video and video Commerce had use that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:36 - 9:46\" data-start=\"00:09:36.216\" data-end=\"00:09:45.824\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">extensively at kind of my two preceding roles and so part of the excitement of joining curate was joining someone who is at The Cutting Edge of this but to your point that\u2019s been migrating,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:46 - 9:51\" data-start=\"00:09:45.903\" data-end=\"00:09:50.788\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and then as we look at the future we said Gee what places do we really own,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"9:51 - 9:57\" data-start=\"00:09:50.890\" data-end=\"00:09:57.332\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">from an e-commerce perspective and we own the 10 foot screen the screen that you see in front of you from a living room perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[9:58]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"9:58 - 10:10\" data-start=\"00:09:57.633\" data-end=\"00:10:10.347\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">We do really well on the laptop you know the desktop for for e-commerce shopping like most traditional e-commerce retailers but as we thought about the small screen that wasn\u2019t a place where we had really built,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"10:11 - 10:19\" data-start=\"00:10:10.504\" data-end=\"00:10:19.397\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">for the future yet we thought were really well positioned we could certainly see what was happening in in Asia and the explosion of Live And mobile driven Commerce.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"10:20 - 10:23\" data-start=\"00:10:19.686\" data-end=\"00:10:23.303\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And realize that that was going to happen here in the west as well.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"10:23 - 10:35\" data-start=\"00:10:23.484\" data-end=\"00:10:35.339\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And felt like we were in a position to innovate around that but we needed to put some real Focus around that so you know about a year ago I stepped out of my role as Chief marketing officer of QVC nhsn,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"10:35 - 10:42\" data-start=\"00:10:35.484\" data-end=\"00:10:41.823\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">to build live shop Ventures and ultimately to launch the soon platform that we\u2019re going to talk about today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[10:42]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"10:42 - 10:49\" data-start=\"00:10:41.944\" data-end=\"00:10:48.799\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Amazing and and I for sure I\u2019m going to get into that but I did think you could help us clear up a few just basic\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"10:49 - 11:00\" data-start=\"00:10:48.656\" data-end=\"00:11:00.024\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">questions about the industry first a I now have some some Envy because your TV is 10 feet at home I\u2019m kind of jealous but the.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"11:00 - 11:07\" data-start=\"00:11:00.229\" data-end=\"00:11:07.007\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">You you call that V Commerce and I\u2019m just curious like I hear all these different phrases all the time I hear people kind of\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"11:07 - 11:16\" data-start=\"00:11:06.755\" data-end=\"00:11:16.177\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">talk about live streaming when they they don\u2019t necessarily mean live and video like is there a preferred label that you guys like to kind of describe this,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"11:16 - 11:17\" data-start=\"00:11:16.261\" data-end=\"00:11:17.240\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">this industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[11:18]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"11:18 - 11:27\" data-start=\"00:11:17.523\" data-end=\"00:11:26.903\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">For sure we love the V e-commerce label in fact we think V Commerce will be the new e-commerce and what we mean by that largely is that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"11:27 - 11:40\" data-start=\"00:11:27.054\" data-end=\"00:11:39.997\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">more and more consumers shopping experiences will be driven by video in fact if you look at today\u2019s youngest consumer right gen Z or the Next Generation Rising almost all of their Discovery happens in a video experience.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"11:41 - 11:52\" data-start=\"00:11:40.652\" data-end=\"00:11:51.720\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">If you think about it and it could come from one of the well-known video players right who\u2019s in this space Instagram which has become largely video Tick-Tock who obviously has led the way there YouTube.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"11:52 - 11:58\" data-start=\"00:11:52.003\" data-end=\"00:11:57.567\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">All of these places if I think about and I have so fun fact I have six kids,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"11:58 - 12:09\" data-start=\"00:11:57.700\" data-end=\"00:12:08.912\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">the youngest is squarely gen Z 12 years old the oldest is Millennial 29 years old and I watched their journey and most of their Discovery right the new trip they\u2019re going to take.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"12:09 - 12:17\" data-start=\"00:12:09.105\" data-end=\"00:12:17.091\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">The next meal they\u2019re going to make the next product they\u2019re going to buy the next television show they\u2019re going to watch is all coming through their video feed.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"12:17 - 12:32\" data-start=\"00:12:17.289\" data-end=\"00:12:31.987\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yet in the e-commerce space we\u2019re still largely dependent upon static images and or in the physical space on boxes and shelf talkers and that\u2019s just not the way that the rising generation discovers.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"12:32 - 12:33\" data-start=\"00:12:32.234\" data-end=\"00:12:33.261\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Anything new.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[12:34]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"12:34 - 12:40\" data-start=\"00:12:34.433\" data-end=\"00:12:39.859\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Yep ingredient it\u2019s interesting you have a built-in test bed is that was that part of your strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[12:40]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"12:40 - 12:42\" data-start=\"00:12:39.595\" data-end=\"00:12:42.064\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I think that that if.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[12:42]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"12:42 - 12:44\" data-start=\"00:12:41.764\" data-end=\"00:12:43.957\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">We need more kids I need to get another generation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[12:44]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"12:44 - 12:55\" data-start=\"00:12:44.090\" data-end=\"00:12:54.677\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">If you went back in math my career I did a pretty good job landing at the right Brands and price basis for my for my kids ages the only one they might say I got wrong was the bridal industry I was a bit premature on the bridal industry,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"12:55 - 13:03\" data-start=\"00:12:54.810\" data-end=\"00:13:03.156\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">but but you know as I look back so we do we talk a lot about be Commerce and that for us means live it also means pre-recorded,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"13:03 - 13:16\" data-start=\"00:13:03.301\" data-end=\"00:13:16.406\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">right it can mean you know things that are that are behind the scenes it\u2019s anything that really leverages video to help tell the product and Brand Story to a consumer in a way that helps them make better decisions and get to yes faster.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"13:17 - 13:25\" data-start=\"00:13:16.629\" data-end=\"00:13:25.486\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">That\u2019s where we see the Innovation going that\u2019s where we see all brands needing to play we think it will look different in the west than it looks in the east.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"13:26 - 13:36\" data-start=\"00:13:26.003\" data-end=\"00:13:36.434\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And that\u2019s because different consumers and different markets and different level of kind of retail development but we think it\u2019ll be globally relevant over the course of the next you know five to ten years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[13:37]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"13:37 - 13:45\" data-start=\"00:13:37.264\" data-end=\"00:13:44.601\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Brickell as the entrepreneur host on the program Jason\u2019s a big company guy he\u2019s a you can tell by his title.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"13:46 - 13:55\" data-start=\"00:13:45.923\" data-end=\"00:13:54.606\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">He\u2019s corporate drone and he doesn\u2019t know who he works for half the time over there there\u2019s like he\u2019s like I think I have a boss but I don\u2019t know I don\u2019t know who approves my expense report Seymour,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"13:55 - 14:04\" data-start=\"00:13:54.636\" data-end=\"00:14:03.770\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">that\u2019s how big is a company and you know one of my favorite books is the innovators dilemma where and I\u2019m sure you\u2019re familiar with it where\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:04 - 14:15\" data-start=\"00:14:03.746\" data-end=\"00:14:14.832\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">you know most companies like tear you they were super Innovative and really did a ton in the category and you know a lot of them don\u2019t make it it\u2019s interesting to me that you\u2019re now working for a company that you know obviously.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"14:15 - 14:18\" data-start=\"00:14:15.217\" data-end=\"00:14:18.420\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Is working to not get caught in that in most companies don\u2019t\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:18 - 14:37\" data-start=\"00:14:18.288\" data-end=\"00:14:37.324\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">kind of sounds like and I may be reading too much in this you you either put your hand up and said I want to do this or they said we need someone to incubate this and you volunteered I\u2019d love to hear the story of how your kind of like starting this company inside of a bigger company that that\u2019s interact to excuse you know the extent you can share our what you want to do that that\u2019s always interesting to hear because a lot of\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:37 - 14:39\" data-start=\"00:14:37.145\" data-end=\"00:14:38.628\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">a lot of big companies don\u2019t do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[14:39]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"14:39 - 14:43\" data-start=\"00:14:39.158\" data-end=\"00:14:42.841\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">No I appreciate that you know we feel,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:43 - 14:50\" data-start=\"00:14:42.925\" data-end=\"00:14:49.601\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know we I feel honored to kind of be in an organization and part of a company that\u2019s trying to lead that way Forbes just named,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:50 - 14:59\" data-start=\"00:14:49.643\" data-end=\"00:14:58.939\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">secure it retail one of the you know the country\u2019s top three hundred Innovative companies right so we\u2019re recognized for having thought about this space and we\u2019ve innovated over the course of the last,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"14:59 - 15:13\" data-start=\"00:14:59.078\" data-end=\"00:15:13.379\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">35 plus years if you were to look at what QVC nhsn looked like 30 years ago they look very different than what you see today both in the way that we reach interact with customers and so you know the story here you know I\u2019ll keep it relatively\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"15:13 - 15:20\" data-start=\"00:15:13.367\" data-end=\"00:15:20.433\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">34 for time sake but we were looking at you know the future of curate and looking for where we think,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"15:21 - 15:36\" data-start=\"00:15:20.548\" data-end=\"00:15:35.540\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know girls could come from I was obviously looking at that in my core role as Chief marketing officer I let our you know our insights and analytics team and we were looking at the consumer and we\u2019re looking at the businesses and the ages of and cohorts of consumers where we did really well and where we felt like,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"15:36 - 15:49\" data-start=\"00:15:35.697\" data-end=\"00:15:48.946\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">there was opportunity for us and one of those that was clear was we had an opportunity with the younger consumer and unlike many many brands that will often make the decision to go how do we stretch our brand younger it\u2019s one of the hardest things to do our view was to say.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[15:49]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"15:49 - 16:01\" data-start=\"00:15:49.109\" data-end=\"00:16:00.520\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">We have a core customer we love our QVC and HSN customers 50-plus their affluent they have disposable income they love to engage with us and Us in this way as we think there is,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"16:01 - 16:05\" data-start=\"00:16:00.587\" data-end=\"00:16:04.780\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">potential for growth with still the 50-plus customer we have plenty of,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"16:05 - 16:17\" data-start=\"00:16:04.847\" data-end=\"00:16:16.793\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">consumers who can discover our experience who aren\u2019t you a shopping there and we think can fall in love with it but we did recognize hey there\u2019s a there\u2019s a rising generation that\u2019s that\u2019s embedded and videos embedded in the way that they operate,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"16:17 - 16:25\" data-start=\"00:16:16.937\" data-end=\"00:16:25.277\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">why aren\u2019t we doing anything there so I did raise my hand and talked a lot about you know that consumer and about the power of video and our expertise and,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"16:25 - 16:27\" data-start=\"00:16:25.368\" data-end=\"00:16:27.116\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know that with.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"16:27 - 16:38\" data-start=\"00:16:27.393\" data-end=\"00:16:37.848\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">David Robinson who was a new CEO Who had who had joined us in you know late 21 had a knife or for growth and an eye for the digital landscape and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"16:38 - 16:44\" data-start=\"00:16:38.107\" data-end=\"00:16:44.386\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know started he started to think about where our future would would would lead and he knocked on my door.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[16:45]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"16:45 - 16:59\" data-start=\"00:16:44.970\" data-end=\"00:16:58.694\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Early and 22 and and we started to talk about what the future could be and how we might do that and decided he decided to establish the e-commerce Ventures is a new unit inside the organization and I join that team to help,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"16:59 - 17:03\" data-start=\"00:16:58.850\" data-end=\"00:17:03.056\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know lead a component of our Innovative future and so it does take having.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"17:04 - 17:13\" data-start=\"00:17:03.934\" data-end=\"00:17:12.917\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">A CEO that\u2019s got a mind for Innovation and you know the ability to say we\u2019re going to make the investment necessary to do that so.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"17:13 - 17:19\" data-start=\"00:17:13.104\" data-end=\"00:17:19.239\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know this isn\u2019t one of those I feel you know grateful for the fact that I get to work in this call it an intrapreneur setting.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"17:19 - 17:29\" data-start=\"00:17:19.438\" data-end=\"00:17:28.709\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">We\u2019re not chasing you no seed series a series B series C where we\u2019re going as a company we believe that we need to invest in the future and this is one of the ways that we can do that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[17:29]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"17:29 - 17:38\" data-start=\"00:17:29.359\" data-end=\"00:17:37.566\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Yeah that\u2019s neat that you still sounds like you get the flavor of kind of a start-up within a big company but you can use infinite resources you guys have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[17:37]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"17:37 - 17:46\" data-start=\"00:17:37.266\" data-end=\"00:17:45.601\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah and that we think gives us an advantage and that that\u2019s true I we operate we don\u2019t have an operation in New York I soon is based in New York right are.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"17:46 - 17:51\" data-start=\"00:17:45.793\" data-end=\"00:17:50.810\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">QVC is based in West Chester Pennsylvania HSN is based in st. Petersburg Florida.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"17:51 - 18:00\" data-start=\"00:17:51.045\" data-end=\"00:17:59.734\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Right so you know we set this up in a new location so that we could operate as an independent and entrepreneurial company but knowing that you know.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"18:00 - 18:09\" data-start=\"00:17:59.981\" data-end=\"00:18:09.018\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Just an hour train ride away I\u2019ve got hands and resources and folks that can kind of help us get through some of the tougher things of getting something off the ground.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[18:09]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"18:09 - 18:24\" data-start=\"00:18:09.271\" data-end=\"00:18:24.179\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Yeah exactly now do you have a pretty wide aperture what you could do so you could you say hey we want to just try something real fast on Tick-Tock or is your mandate it kind of needs to run through one of the mother ships or tap into.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[18:24]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"18:24 - 18:25\" data-start=\"00:18:23.879\" data-end=\"00:18:25.248\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">No not at all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[18:25]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"18:25 - 18:27\" data-start=\"00:18:24.948\" data-end=\"00:18:26.558\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">The mothership or something.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[18:26]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"18:26 - 18:36\" data-start=\"00:18:26.270\" data-end=\"00:18:35.656\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">No we have a very a very wide mandate most of the team comes from Industries outside of kind of are.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"18:36 - 18:44\" data-start=\"00:18:35.975\" data-end=\"00:18:43.534\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Our CORE family fact most of the town I\u2019ve hired has not been former or current QVC or HSN employees they have been,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"18:44 - 18:50\" data-start=\"00:18:43.661\" data-end=\"00:18:49.693\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know team and talent here based in New York City most of them which is where we found the talent pool that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"18:50 - 19:00\" data-start=\"00:18:49.730\" data-end=\"00:19:00.347\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">looking forward to kind of build this future and we have a pretty wide aperture to test and try and that\u2019s we say we\u2019ve been up for for several months now we\u2019re still we largely consider this the beta version because we are,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"19:00 - 19:11\" data-start=\"00:19:00.480\" data-end=\"00:19:10.863\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">finding the things that we think will be the best fit for the market and create the best experience for both consumers for Brands and ultimately for creators because we do the reason we refer to this as a platform is,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"19:11 - 19:19\" data-start=\"00:19:10.972\" data-end=\"00:19:18.567\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">we don\u2019t see this as just a one-dimensional or two-dimensional relationship you know brand to Consumer retailer to consumer,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"19:19 - 19:28\" data-start=\"00:19:18.627\" data-end=\"00:19:27.953\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">but we\u2019re also trying to build a place where creators can build a livelihood as well where Brands can create their own content to connect with consumers and where we\u2019ve built kind of a new way for consumers,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"19:28 - 19:30\" data-start=\"00:19:28.038\" data-end=\"00:19:30.134\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">the kind of interact and discover new brands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[19:32]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"19:32 - 19:42\" data-start=\"00:19:31.968\" data-end=\"00:19:41.774\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">That is awesome and so it sounds like the soon mobile app is kind of the first public release from live shot Ventures am I thinking about that right.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[19:42]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"19:42 - 19:56\" data-start=\"00:19:41.991\" data-end=\"00:19:55.655\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah it\u2019s the soonest kind of our first public facing you know component of the platform we have components that are that will face Brands and that will face creators to help round out this ecosystem that we think.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"19:56 - 20:58\" data-start=\"00:20:47.267\" data-end=\"00:20:57.981\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Gen Z too early young Millennials we can\u2019t digitally native consumers what we mean by that that\u2019s a buzzword everybody said but we simply mean people that seem to have been born with an iPhone implanted in their hand,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"20:58 - 21:07\" data-start=\"00:20:58.054\" data-end=\"00:21:06.532\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">or some sort of device and if you go back up to 2007 when the iPhone and these devices launched we\u2019re looking at people to kind of get there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"21:07 - 21:15\" data-start=\"00:21:06.743\" data-end=\"00:21:15.083\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Hit their teens or younger in that view I look at you know the way that they navigate and that\u2019s kind of our core audience because they\u2019ve grown up with this fat.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"21:16 - 21:22\" data-start=\"00:21:15.504\" data-end=\"00:21:21.933\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Device being their primary form of discovering the world so that\u2019s our Target so our goal was to build.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[21:23]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"21:23 - 21:43\" data-start=\"00:21:37.028\" data-end=\"00:21:42.713\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Would give Brands a place that are searching to find a pathway that are working so hard to build there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"21:43 - 21:55\" data-start=\"00:21:43.037\" data-end=\"00:21:55.434\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Their products but are can get caught in the jungle that are the very very large marketplaces would give these younger Brands these Innovative brands of place to meet the consumer and to be discovered and to be seen and to have their whole story told.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"21:56 - 21:59\" data-start=\"00:21:55.675\" data-end=\"00:21:58.588\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know it\u2019s one thing to just become a product listing on a.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"21:59 - 22:12\" data-start=\"00:21:58.781\" data-end=\"00:22:12.169\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">On a massive platform like Amazon or Walmart it\u2019s another to be able to have someone who understands the consumer tell your brand story so the value prop is to really build what we think is this entertaining.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[22:13]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"22:13 - 22:20\" data-start=\"00:22:12.951\" data-end=\"00:22:20.143\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Joyful serendipitous shopping moments where you can just discover Brands when you\u2019re when you\u2019re on the go we think.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"22:21 - 22:50\" data-start=\"00:22:35.130\" data-end=\"00:22:49.966\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">It also made it very difficult to just go shopping and if you think about the experience we used to love as teenagers by the way that gen Z teenager still allowed which is the notion of wandering a physical location a mall or a Target or pick your brand or.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"22:50 - 23:01\" data-start=\"00:22:50.291\" data-end=\"00:23:00.512\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know any of those physical experiences where you can just wander and things just inspire you and you you may have gone into by something you may have had an idea in mind you may have not had an idea in mind.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"23:01 - 23:31\" data-start=\"00:23:23.323\" data-end=\"00:23:30.545\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Want to sit back and shop and so our goal was to build a platform where the Serendipity of shopping could come up again you could just thumb if you\u2019re standing in line at the.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"23:31 - 23:36\" data-start=\"00:23:30.864\" data-end=\"00:23:35.749\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">At the Starbucks or if you\u2019re standing in line at the store you\u2019re standing on the platform in the subway station,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"23:36 - 25:10\" data-start=\"00:25:02.202\" data-end=\"00:25:09.515\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know create something unique and special for creators who may or may not work directly for the brand that they\u2019re going to create content for,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"25:10 - 25:18\" data-start=\"00:25:09.647\" data-end=\"00:25:17.699\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and so our thought process is thinking about all three of those audiences as we build and it\u2019s why you know we don\u2019t see this as a,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"25:18 - 25:30\" data-start=\"00:25:17.862\" data-end=\"00:25:30.360\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know as a Sprint but is building something that we think will be lasting because we\u2019re trying to build something that\u2019s going to be relevant and meaningful to all three of those participants in the platform.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"25:31 - 25:46\" data-start=\"00:25:31.100\" data-end=\"00:25:45.870\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Will you operate as a marketplace right so we\u2019re not buying retail we\u2019re not buying inventory in the traditional sense right we\u2019re building the destination we\u2019re working to drive consumers to the destination we\u2019re working to source and find great creative talent that we think can build the right kind of content and then we\u2019re looking,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"25:46 - 25:48\" data-start=\"00:25:45.924\" data-end=\"00:25:47.612\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and reaching out into the.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"25:48 - 25:57\" data-start=\"00:25:47.949\" data-end=\"00:25:56.878\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know into the Reit into the brand landscape to find Brands and products that we think would do well with this with this audience and so we got all three of those things kind of.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"25:57 - 26:03\" data-start=\"00:25:57.047\" data-end=\"00:26:02.863\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know working at once if that\u2019s not easy but sometimes the most rewarding things are difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"1\">Scot:<\/b><br \/><small>[26:04]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"26:04 - 26:22\" data-start=\"00:26:12.887\" data-end=\"00:26:22.002\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">But once the network effects it going it\u2019s a great business but sometimes it\u2019s hard to kind of kick start them do you feel like you guys are at kind of like that product Market fit or you\u2019re still kind of.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"26:22 - 26:25\" data-start=\"00:26:22.303\" data-end=\"00:26:25.217\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Experimenting and figuring out or like.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[26:25]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"26:25 - 26:34\" data-start=\"00:26:24.917\" data-end=\"00:26:34.140\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah we think you know what we\u2019re excited about today is the engagement from the number of brands that have come on our platform has gone much faster than we expected.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"26:34 - 26:43\" data-start=\"00:26:34.387\" data-end=\"00:26:43.142\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">The consumer You Know download and engagement we\u2019re in that that nice stair-step each month each week of downloads,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"26:43 - 26:54\" data-start=\"00:26:43.245\" data-end=\"00:26:54.127\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">increasing on the platform so we feel that we\u2019re moving very strongly towards that you know that market fit place but that\u2019s why we say we\u2019re in beta right well when we\u2019re,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"26:54 - 27:07\" data-start=\"00:26:54.289\" data-end=\"00:27:07.040\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">one more there will declare that were there and we\u2019ll change the even the way that we go to market even more aggressively but we\u2019re excited about the early signs both the excitement from creators excitement from from Brands who come on board,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"27:07 - 27:19\" data-start=\"00:27:07.173\" data-end=\"00:27:18.902\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and again the excitement from the early consumers who have engaged with us the early adopters and starting to experience the platform and so all of those things right now are very positive and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"27:19 - 27:42\" data-start=\"00:27:36.227\" data-end=\"00:27:41.700\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">and it sounds like you probably haven\u2019t you know you should definitely get out of beta for you do that\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"27:42 - 27:50\" data-start=\"00:27:41.641\" data-end=\"00:27:50.023\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">but then even you know even you know how do you do the shoots the right way and you know,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"27:50 - 28:06\" data-start=\"00:27:50.053\" data-end=\"00:28:05.616\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">inside the work there\u2019s tons of just knowledge around streaming and video quality and I\u2019m sure there\u2019s some interesting craters that overlap that would be fun to tap into it even brands that you know I\u2019m sure if you were looking for a brand it\u2019s much easier being part of the larger or\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"28:05 - 28:11\" data-start=\"00:28:05.419\" data-end=\"00:28:10.718\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">more brands are going to take your call versus you know Joe\u2019s startup LLC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[28:11]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"28:11 - 28:18\" data-start=\"00:28:10.647\" data-end=\"00:28:18.163\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah yeah I would say one of our I think that\u2019s well that\u2019s well well said one of our advantages right is the reality that for you know,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"28:18 - 28:30\" data-start=\"00:28:18.290\" data-end=\"00:28:29.653\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">for decades we\u2019ve been helping small Brands become household names become very large businesses because we understand the power of live we understand the power of video and using it to help.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[28:30]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"28:30 - 28:57\" data-start=\"00:28:42.435\" data-end=\"00:28:57.192\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">out of the corner of their garage going hey we\u2019ve got an idea for the future of video shopping this is you know the the leader in video and live shopping who said hey we\u2019re going to build a new platform a new experience for a new audience and,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"28:57 - 29:09\" data-start=\"00:28:57.319\" data-end=\"00:29:09.289\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">we\u2019re going to bring our expertise to video shopping to that to that platform and we\u2019re going to help you learn how to do it as a brand we\u2019re going to help you learn how to do it as a Creator both of those things have been very important,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"29:09 - 29:19\" data-start=\"00:29:09.421\" data-end=\"00:29:18.855\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">add helping us you know get to yes as we don\u2019t get a lot of NOS as we have conversations with Brands right now we get a lot of people excited,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"29:19 - 29:30\" data-start=\"00:29:18.964\" data-end=\"00:29:30.230\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">even in this early Journey even recognizing that we\u2019re in the beta phase because they believe in the business where you know we\u2019re over 300 Brands already interested in on the platform,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"29:30 - 29:35\" data-start=\"00:29:30.387\" data-end=\"00:29:34.539\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">at this stage and you know we\u2019re early on we launched in March.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"29:35 - 30:02\" data-start=\"00:29:55.499\" data-end=\"00:30:01.718\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">I can probably get you on HSN and everyone\u2019s like who so she could tend to get a good deal\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"30:02 - 30:11\" data-start=\"00:30:01.604\" data-end=\"00:30:11.128\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">so then it made me think are you dealing with Challenger Brands kind of like you know things we people maybe haven\u2019t heard of or is this kind of like you know\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"30:11 - 30:20\" data-start=\"00:30:11.080\" data-end=\"00:30:19.943\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">Kate Spade or whoever I don\u2019t want to go into details but like more long-term brands that are just kind of looking for a fresh new channel is there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"30:21 - 30:30\" data-start=\"00:30:21.680\" data-end=\"00:30:29.984\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah so we have a lot of what we call emerging Brands and we can define those in a couple of ways right so there you know I\u2019m an emerging,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"30:30 - 30:35\" data-start=\"00:30:30.063\" data-end=\"00:30:34.726\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">might have been around for 10 years or 15 years but they\u2019re just very tightly,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"30:35 - 30:42\" data-start=\"00:30:34.738\" data-end=\"00:30:42.363\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">geographically located maybe they just had a couple of stores and a little direct consumer website but they weren\u2019t really propagating their brand through there,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"30:42 - 30:47\" data-start=\"00:30:42.454\" data-end=\"00:30:47.393\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">back in the emerging and we have several brands that look like that we also have Brands there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"30:48 - 30:58\" data-start=\"00:30:47.658\" data-end=\"00:30:58.185\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Relatively young this could be year 1 year 2 year 3 right and they started as a direct consumer brand and they\u2019re looking for other points of distribution and other places to be able to tell their story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[30:58]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"30:58 - 31:27\" data-start=\"00:31:17.625\" data-end=\"00:31:27.485\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Kelly\u2019s are great Brands who innovate and develop some new products that solve a consumer problem those do really well in video right now and if you think about,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"31:28 - 31:36\" data-start=\"00:31:27.504\" data-end=\"00:31:35.627\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">all the you know Tik Tok made me buy it friends you know so many of those products are built around the idea of hey we\u2019ve got a new solution,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"31:36 - 31:48\" data-start=\"00:31:35.628\" data-end=\"00:31:48.295\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">a problem that you have or we\u2019ve got a new take on solving a problem that has been solved a bunch of other ways but never quite solved this way those are the kinds of products and brands that do really well and we find those both in this emerging space and we also find.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"31:49 - 31:51\" data-start=\"00:31:48.511\" data-end=\"00:31:50.909\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You\u2019ll also find it in some more established brands.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"31:51 - 32:01\" data-start=\"00:31:51.125\" data-end=\"00:32:00.848\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">But the focus has really been can we bring consumers content that\u2019s interesting to watch because what the product does for a consumer is.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"32:01 - 32:08\" data-start=\"00:32:01.022\" data-end=\"00:32:07.800\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Have itself useful and highly valuable and that\u2019s if you spend some time on the app you\u2019ll see a lot of products,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"32:08 - 32:21\" data-start=\"00:32:07.825\" data-end=\"00:32:21.302\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">better focused in that in that regard and so you know we\u2019ve not been exclusionary and by any stretch of the imagination but we do have a lot of young and fun emerging brands with some amazing Founders and some amazing founder stories behind them on plan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[32:23]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"32:23 - 34:07\" data-start=\"00:33:56.865\" data-end=\"00:34:06.828\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">it\u2019s a brutally competitive space and it\u2019s like really hard to get people to download the app and then it\u2019s really hard to get them to to reuse it like I\u2019m curious did you guys.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"34:07 - 34:15\" data-start=\"00:34:07.038\" data-end=\"00:34:15.451\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Like debate about a mobile web experience versus an app and and decide that that\u2019s where you needed to be or how is that played out for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[34:15]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"34:15 - 34:25\" data-start=\"00:34:15.205\" data-end=\"00:34:24.915\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah so we absolutely did they say it was probably one of the one of the bigger conversations right as we thought about our future and our Direction working with my team and and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"34:25 - 34:36\" data-start=\"00:34:25.450\" data-end=\"00:34:35.779\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Our partners to think about hey what\u2019s the best way to go forward and build a new shopping you know destination and we certainly researched all the hurdles.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"34:36 - 34:40\" data-start=\"00:34:35.984\" data-end=\"00:34:40.280\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">As well but we saw all the things that you highlighted in the beginning right the notion that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"34:40 - 34:51\" data-start=\"00:34:40.431\" data-end=\"00:34:50.796\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">more time is spent on apps particularly from from the target audience we were going after the engagement is much higher the commitment once you have it as much stronger all of those elements that.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"34:51 - 34:57\" data-start=\"00:34:51.109\" data-end=\"00:34:56.955\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">This is going to be a heavier lift but it\u2019s going to be the right lift for us and.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"34:57 - 35:11\" data-start=\"00:34:57.238\" data-end=\"00:35:10.554\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And we have to be committed we know it\u2019s going to take time but this is going to be the right lift because inside that app also it just gives you the flexibility to do and create some experiential things that just aren\u2019t as as.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[35:12]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"35:12 - 35:27\" data-start=\"00:35:16.251\" data-end=\"00:35:26.869\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Right so you know I\u2019ll give you I\u2019ll give you one of the features that we love that\u2019s just really hard to do in mobile web but amazing an app so you know part of our vision was to be able to create this window,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"35:27 - 35:34\" data-start=\"00:35:26.959\" data-end=\"00:35:34.079\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">shopping experience again right to bring the joy back to shopping we\u2019re literally as you thumb through things consider each one of those swipes the window,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"35:34 - 35:44\" data-start=\"00:35:34.182\" data-end=\"00:35:44.055\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">write as if you were walking down your favorite shopping destination and you know there\u2019s an amazing product with an amazing Storyteller so instead of being on a mannequin in a fixed window it\u2019s by a voice that,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"35:44 - 35:54\" data-start=\"00:35:44.205\" data-end=\"00:35:53.549\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know has some credibility and authority and as they tell you about that but what if you want to see more from that brand well you just swipe left.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"35:54 - 35:56\" data-start=\"00:35:53.886\" data-end=\"00:35:55.850\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And you\u2019re into that brand store.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"35:56 - 36:10\" data-start=\"00:35:56.151\" data-end=\"00:36:09.587\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Or what if you want to love what if you love this soon said what if you love this Creator we call them soon satyrs that\u2019s telling you the product and you want to do you want to see more will you just you know tap the screen and up comes all the video content that that person is created,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"36:10 - 36:18\" data-start=\"00:36:09.702\" data-end=\"00:36:17.609\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">doing that in a mobile app mobile apps just don\u2019t have the same kind of tactical functionality that you can build inside of an app I\u2019ll be realized,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"36:18 - 36:21\" data-start=\"00:36:17.742\" data-end=\"00:36:20.920\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">part of this if we were going to build a new experience we needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[36:22]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"36:22 - 36:37\" data-start=\"00:36:21.900\" data-end=\"00:36:36.508\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">The flexibility in the capabilities to be able to use everything the mobile device gives to you you know ultimately we don\u2019t have haptics in our experience yet we will you know they\u2019re all those things that are that are native to the app experience that you know.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"36:37 - 36:42\" data-start=\"00:36:36.676\" data-end=\"00:36:41.958\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Is opened up an iPhone and ultimately Android which are not on yet but will be in the future.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"36:42 - 36:52\" data-start=\"00:36:42.331\" data-end=\"00:36:52.101\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">That we wanted to be able to have access to to give it the richest experience even knowing we\u2019d have some hurdles and getting apps downloaded keeping them on the device and getting people back to him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[36:52]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"36:52 - 37:09\" data-start=\"00:36:52.246\" data-end=\"00:37:08.572\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">I got it that totally makes sense another one that comes up a lot in a specially you mentioned it seems like adoptions a little earlier in China so I watched the Chinese Behavior a lot to sort of see a bit it predicts how things will evolve here and it\u2019s interesting there are\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:08 - 37:18\" data-start=\"00:37:08.416\" data-end=\"00:37:17.634\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">amazing social platforms that had huge engagement that are all pivoting to become shopping platforms right so that\u2019s by dance that\u2019s we\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:18 - 37:21\" data-start=\"00:37:17.544\" data-end=\"00:37:21.462\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">and then there are amazing Commerce platforms like\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:21 - 37:33\" data-start=\"00:37:21.372\" data-end=\"00:37:33.366\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Ali Baba and Team all that are kind of pivoting to become engagement platforms and so that\u2019s why you know ding dong live and Ali Baba live and all of these these things like\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:33 - 37:38\" data-start=\"00:37:33.180\" data-end=\"00:37:37.950\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">I\u2019m kind of curious do you have a position like in the long run what wins right being a\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:38 - 37:44\" data-start=\"00:37:37.909\" data-end=\"00:37:43.521\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">a platform that has a lot of video engagement and adding Commerce to it which in the u.s. I guess that could be.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"37:44 - 37:57\" data-start=\"00:37:43.696\" data-end=\"00:37:56.927\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">Tick tock on Instagram or is it a platform that really is good at Commerce and adds adds the video engagement and so you know maybe that\u2019s that\u2019s obviously but Amazon or Walmart and then I assume like\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"37:57 - 38:00\" data-start=\"00:37:56.753\" data-end=\"00:37:59.757\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">The Perfect combo of both of those is of course you guys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[38:00]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"38:00 - 38:15\" data-start=\"00:38:04.673\" data-end=\"00:38:14.948\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">video wins video ends and I\u2019ll come back to it and here\u2019s a here\u2019s why I say that so do I think you know Tick-Tock and Instagram and all those who are building you know shopping experiences into their platform,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"38:15 - 38:20\" data-start=\"00:38:14.955\" data-end=\"00:38:20.074\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">have an opportunity to win and do conversate for sure do in fact I\u2019ll give you an example I often share.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"38:20 - 38:29\" data-start=\"00:38:20.255\" data-end=\"00:38:28.601\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">With you know Brands and others as I\u2019m eating and it\u2019s a very simple question for both you Jason and Scott have you ever bought anything while you were in an airport.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"38:30 - 38:35\" data-start=\"00:38:29.695\" data-end=\"00:38:34.670\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">From a retailer awesome have you ever gone to the airport have you ever gone to the airport to go shopping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[38:36]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"38:36 - 38:46\" data-start=\"00:38:36.275\" data-end=\"00:38:45.739\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Right so the reality is that airports have a purpose right which is they help you get from one place to another and it\u2019s a very valuable part of your life experience.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"38:46 - 38:58\" data-start=\"00:38:45.944\" data-end=\"00:38:58.045\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">But what airports learned is have had a lot of people in my space I\u2019ll bet if I put some stores in here for you those people will buy something that is for sure going to be true with these social platforms they have a lot of people in their space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[38:59]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"38:59 - 39:05\" data-start=\"00:38:58.508\" data-end=\"00:39:04.673\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">If they create opportunities for people to buy people will buy but the purpose for opening Tik-Tok is not to go shopping,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"39:05 - 39:17\" data-start=\"00:39:04.764\" data-end=\"00:39:17.280\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and people are finding Pathways there because that\u2019s like that\u2019s a place where I\u2019m at and I\u2019m learning their shopping there so now I can do this so I know if I\u2019m Atlanta I like Ferragamo I know in the Atlanta airport there\u2019s a Ferragamo so I can find my way there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"39:18 - 39:26\" data-start=\"00:39:17.509\" data-end=\"00:39:26.450\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">As a as a consumer and make it a point to go there when I\u2019m in airports where I know the brands that I like are at,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"39:27 - 39:36\" data-start=\"00:39:26.577\" data-end=\"00:39:35.830\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">but that\u2019s very different than then going to your favorite neighborhood street or going to your favorite you know mall to go to go shopping and so\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"39:36 - 39:49\" data-start=\"00:39:35.765\" data-end=\"00:39:49.435\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">we think those places exist on the other side you have right you have what\u2019s happened in the physical space that\u2019s taking place in the digital space right so malls have tried to figure out hey shopping isn\u2019t enough to get people here I need restaurants and entertain I need other things that are engaging,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"39:50 - 39:53\" data-start=\"00:39:49.538\" data-end=\"00:39:53.094\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and team on everybody else is going to go down that pathway as well and go hey,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"39:53 - 40:05\" data-start=\"00:39:53.173\" data-end=\"00:40:05.497\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">if I want to keep people here I need I need things that are engaging because consumers are expecting more well-rounded experiences from all the places that they go and so our viewers to say listen if you know let\u2019s just build something,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"40:06 - 40:15\" data-start=\"00:40:05.636\" data-end=\"00:40:14.631\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">that recognizes that that\u2019s what the consumer needs and wants and create a place we\u2019re going shopping and being engaged and being entertained is,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"40:15 - 40:24\" data-start=\"00:40:14.758\" data-end=\"00:40:24.005\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">in and of itself the point the experience and we believe there will be space for that for an experience like that but I think I think Commerce is going to happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[40:25]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"40:25 - 40:33\" data-start=\"00:40:24.516\" data-end=\"00:40:33.127\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">In all of these spaces if you bring video to them I think it\u2019s going to happen on on you know brand own websites as they bring video that\u2019s the that\u2019s the core of it,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"40:33 - 40:40\" data-start=\"00:40:33.193\" data-end=\"00:40:39.545\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and again if you step back and go well gee how much space is there you know retail such a fixed base well that\u2019s what we all said.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"40:40 - 40:48\" data-start=\"00:40:39.713\" data-end=\"00:40:47.741\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know 20 years ago when e-commerce showed up like e-commerce can\u2019t grow the retail space there\u2019s a fixed space it\u2019s going to be you know give some take some.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"40:48 - 40:53\" data-start=\"00:40:48.240\" data-end=\"00:40:53.071\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">At the end of the day retail is just larger as as the platforms and places,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"40:53 - 41:07\" data-start=\"00:40:53.156\" data-end=\"00:41:07.000\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">have continued to evolve and to explode if you think about the difference between where we are and you know where Asia is and where we see the Western markets I think part of this is understanding that I think Asia is unique in that there.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"41:07 - 41:12\" data-start=\"00:41:07.241\" data-end=\"00:41:11.885\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Retail ecosystem you know take China it\u2019s just very different.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"41:12 - 41:24\" data-start=\"00:41:12.096\" data-end=\"00:41:24.000\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">From Mars when you consider the scale their population and how much of that is urbanized versus still you know in more agrarian spaces and so it\u2019s not exactly the bear to make the comparison between.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[41:25]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"41:25 - 41:34\" data-start=\"00:41:24.727\" data-end=\"00:41:34.131\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Those two spaces and you know they have different tastes and different preferences and so I think for us in the u.s. I think part of the difficulty has been we\u2019ve been trying to apply.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"41:35 - 41:42\" data-start=\"00:41:34.678\" data-end=\"00:41:42.147\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">A formula from Asia to Western markets versus saying hey what\u2019s the formula that\u2019s right for Western markets and video.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"41:43 - 41:57\" data-start=\"00:41:42.664\" data-end=\"00:41:56.791\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">And let\u2019s let\u2019s take stock of understanding what the Retail Landscape looks like here what the consumer behavior and preference for shopping looks like here and then how do you build something that\u2019s around that I think brands are starting to figure that out I think we\u2019re,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"41:57 - 42:04\" data-start=\"00:41:56.834\" data-end=\"00:42:04.128\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">you know we\u2019re just at the corner we\u2019re probably today where e-commerce was in 2001-2002,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"42:04 - 42:11\" data-start=\"00:42:04.207\" data-end=\"00:42:11.495\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">right so we\u2019re on the verge of exploding but if you remember back in those days there were a lot of brands that we\u2019re saying yeah we\u2019re not going to need any Commerce site.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"42:13 - 42:37\" data-start=\"00:42:26.338\" data-end=\"00:42:36.806\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">That much of a Starbucks not or are you just like is muscle memory for him he\u2019s like I want to Starbucks he just ends up at O\u2019Hare and he\u2019s like oh oh I don\u2019t have a flight but man this this latte is delicious.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"42:37 - 42:40\" data-start=\"00:42:36.998\" data-end=\"00:42:40.050\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">The\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"42:40 - 42:56\" data-start=\"00:42:39.895\" data-end=\"00:42:55.999\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">so I started a company Channel advisor andqvc was an early customer of ours and I got to go on that behind the scenes tour where you can watch the production room and it blew my mind as an e-commerce person because it was like this pure intersection of data meet Stevie\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"42:56 - 43:00\" data-start=\"00:42:55.855\" data-end=\"00:43:00.241\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">because you know the talent on are would have a may be mic\u2019d up,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"43:00 - 43:09\" data-start=\"00:43:00.271\" data-end=\"00:43:08.768\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">and the producers say when you talked about you know how the vest feels they watch this I think it was like orders per second some velocity.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"43:09 - 43:17\" data-start=\"00:43:09.201\" data-end=\"00:43:17.331\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">And they would tell him to talk more about that and if a product didn\u2019t make a certain velocity there like next so it\u2019s really so I\u2019m kind of thinking you know\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"43:17 - 43:30\" data-start=\"00:43:17.307\" data-end=\"00:43:30.388\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">can you guys because you\u2019re you\u2019ve got both sides of the marketplace are you giving your creators some really interesting kind of youqvc any HSN informed data on on you know.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"43:31 - 43:39\" data-start=\"00:43:30.611\" data-end=\"00:43:39.294\" data-spk=\"1\" data-label=\"Scot\">How how to make a better video and sell more product and that kind of thing or you may be too early in your journey but it seems like you guys Doug be like right in your strike zone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[43:40]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"43:40 - 43:49\" data-start=\"00:43:39.607\" data-end=\"00:43:49.473\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">No that\u2019s the you know that\u2019s part of the secret sauce that\u2019s why we\u2019re so excited about this space it\u2019s taking that learning and absolutely the analytics right that we\u2019re putting in place and ultimately the.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"43:50 - 44:01\" data-start=\"00:43:49.648\" data-end=\"00:44:01.311\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">That algorithms that will drive right the personalization feed and the coaching that\u2019s given not just to creators but then ultimately to Brands is all built around enabling their ability to be\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"44:01 - 44:07\" data-start=\"00:44:01.306\" data-end=\"00:44:06.996\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">as effective as possible at producing a video and what works depending on the category so.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"44:07 - 44:17\" data-start=\"00:44:07.188\" data-end=\"00:44:17.325\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">That\u2019s core to what we are doing at Stone is using data to drive decisions around content to drive decisions around.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"44:18 - 44:32\" data-start=\"00:44:17.614\" data-end=\"00:44:32.222\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">The speeds that ultimately will be will be you know shared with consumers right to create as much likelihood or much potential for success as possible and you know you you hit on the head Scott right part of this and part of what\u2019s made.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"44:32 - 44:38\" data-start=\"00:44:32.408\" data-end=\"00:44:37.516\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">You know curate successful for so long is that what seems very soft.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"44:38 - 44:49\" data-start=\"00:44:37.865\" data-end=\"00:44:48.699\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Is very data-intensive and using data to make those decisions and we see that as being one of our core attributes in our core advantages is a boat as we build.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[44:51]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"44:51 - 45:01\" data-start=\"00:44:50.580\" data-end=\"00:45:01.065\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">That certainly makes sense Brian I\u2019m sad because I know we\u2019re running up on time and I have one more topic I want to make sure I get in which is this whole debate of\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"45:01 - 45:09\" data-start=\"00:45:01.048\" data-end=\"00:45:08.913\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">video versus live video and I know you do you think about QVC and there\u2019s a lot of scarcity built-in which makes the\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"45:09 - 45:16\" data-start=\"00:45:08.872\" data-end=\"00:45:15.625\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">the live model make a lot of sense and in China a lot of it has scarcity of deals and things\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"45:15 - 45:28\" data-start=\"00:45:15.488\" data-end=\"00:45:28.094\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">in the u.s. I hear a lot of people calling things live that aren\u2019t even live and so I\u2019m just curious like what you know do you think it needs to be live or is it a place for both like what how do you guys feel think about the live versus\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"45:28 - 45:32\" data-start=\"00:45:28.046\" data-end=\"00:45:32.252\" data-spk=\"0\" data-label=\"Jason\">store and play video Commerce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"2\">Brian:<\/b><br \/><small>[45:32]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"45:32 - 45:40\" data-start=\"00:45:32.337\" data-end=\"00:45:39.848\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Yeah so we use both at soon so we think live live has a role in the sense of creating excitement creating a bit of\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"45:40 - 45:49\" data-start=\"00:45:39.722\" data-end=\"00:45:48.910\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">scarcity also creating the the Serendipity the moment and the authenticity and organic and credibility of the content most of the content.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"45:49 - 46:01\" data-start=\"00:45:49.132\" data-end=\"00:46:01.420\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">In our mind is shot or created live meaning we\u2019re not trying to do a bunch of takes and a bunch of edits of the work in fact I tell people all the time I said it\u2019s part of the magic of one of the longest running show Saturday Night Live it\u2019s one of my favorite shows maybe maybe\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"46:01 - 46:08\" data-start=\"00:46:01.337\" data-end=\"00:46:07.940\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">part of your audience loves that show as well as right it\u2019s taped in front of a live studio audience and part of what makes that show so engaging.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"46:08 - 46:16\" data-start=\"00:46:08.115\" data-end=\"00:46:16.461\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Right is that reality and the fact that there\u2019s room for errors or groom for mistakes you know you may see one or two but it just feels so,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"46:17 - 46:23\" data-start=\"00:46:16.576\" data-end=\"00:46:22.873\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">in the moment we think that matters a lot in the experience but today.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"46:23 - 46:28\" data-start=\"00:46:23.150\" data-end=\"00:46:28.185\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">I don\u2019t know I don\u2019t know the facts but I suspect a lot of SNL is watched after the fact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[46:29]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"46:29 - 46:40\" data-start=\"00:46:29.267\" data-end=\"00:46:40.203\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">But the fact that it was shot in front of a live studio audience is what makes it so engaging so what we think about video we talk about it live here we often mean look what we want this to feel is live like meaning it should feel\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"46:40 - 46:44\" data-start=\"00:46:40.125\" data-end=\"00:46:44.487\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">like you\u2019re having a fantastic conversation sometimes it will actually be live.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"46:45 - 46:59\" data-start=\"00:46:44.722\" data-end=\"00:46:58.555\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">But the vast majority of the content is going to be consumed post life because let\u2019s be honest gen Z doesn\u2019t really meet anybody for an appointment anymore from a from a watch perspective right they watch things on their own time when it makes sense for them,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"46:59 - 47:05\" data-start=\"00:46:58.711\" data-end=\"00:47:04.576\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">and it fits into their their life that doesn\u2019t take away from the fact that if the offer is big enough,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"47:05 - 47:14\" data-start=\"00:47:04.738\" data-end=\"00:47:14.383\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">for the products right right they\u2019ll show up in force for a live moment and so we believe that you need both in order to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><small>[47:15]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"47:15 - 47:25\" data-start=\"00:47:15.176\" data-end=\"00:47:24.724\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">To create something that\u2019s compelling but for us you know largely what we think matters is creating content that is done by people who really know how to speak,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"47:25 - 47:34\" data-start=\"00:47:24.869\" data-end=\"00:47:34.230\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">can do it in one take right because you know they\u2019re good at what they what they do and can bring that level of Candor to the.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"47:35 - 47:44\" data-start=\"00:47:34.652\" data-end=\"00:47:43.647\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">To the content and that\u2019s that\u2019s what we think really will resonate candidly with people of all ages we don\u2019t think this is that\u2019s just specific to young people that\u2019s specific to everybody,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"47:44 - 47:45\" data-start=\"00:47:43.665\" data-end=\"00:47:45.101\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">we love candidness,\u00a0<\/span><span title=\"47:45 - 47:56\" data-start=\"00:47:45.204\" data-end=\"00:47:56.164\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">we love I think you open the podcast here saying Hey listen if you make a mistake or two we\u2019re not going to stop and rerecord and all those things right and you\u2019re going to listen part of what makes this so natural is when it\u2019s.<\/span><br \/><span title=\"47:56 - 48:00\" data-start=\"00:47:56.338\" data-end=\"00:47:59.799\" data-spk=\"2\" data-label=\"Brian\">Captured in the moment we think that\u2019s true for video Commerce as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-spk=\"0\">Jason:<\/b><br \/><small>[48:00]<\/small>\u00a0<span title=\"48:00 -
