<\/div>\nAmazon has said it will start charging\u00a0Prime members\u00a0for same-day delivery on some orders from next month.<\/p>\n
The online giant has become the latest retailer to up its prices in some form, informing customers eligible for same-day delivery that it will now charge members an extra \u00a31.99 for orders under \u00a320, a perk that used to be included in the monthly subscription price.<\/p>\n
Thousands of Prime shoppers received the email which outlines the new charge for the retailer\u2019s same-day service, which sees items delivered as long as they are ordered by 1 pm.<\/p>\n
Any customer who spends less than \u00a320 will now be charged for the service, despite paying\u00a0\u00a38.99 a month for Prime delivery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fee for customers who are not Prime members will remain \u00a35.99.\u201d<\/p>\n
The change will apply from September 18, 2023 while prime members that spend over \u00a320 will continue to get free same-day delivery if it\u2019s available on their order.<\/p>\n
Following the news, many prime members took to social media to share their grievances.<\/p>\n
One Prime member said on Facebook: \u201cThere\u2019s not much point in being a Prime member soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another said: \u201cIt\u2019s getting to the point where unless you use next-day delivery a lot or video it\u2019s not that beneficial.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLooks like I\u2019ll be\u00a0cancelling my subscription\u00a0then,\u201d said a third shopper.<\/p>\n
However a fourth said: \u201cHonestly I still think it\u2019s an absolute bargain.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m happy with the \u00a31.99 charge if I want something under \u00a320 on the same day.\u201d<\/p>\n
